Simple recipes
A well balanced meal and good nutrition are important to your health and the health of your family. Eating habits can be improved through just a few changes.
Here are some suggestions:
- set up a regular family meal time
- eat slow and pay attention to your food
- eat a variety of foods
- eat less, and exercise more
- add soy, garlic, fish oil, and antioxidants to your everyday diet
- eliminate soda and drink more water
- add herbal tea to your every day diet (without sugar, honey, or milk additions is best)
RECIPES
Quick, Easy and Yummy Salad Vinaigrette
- Combine 1 tbsp. sesame oil, 1 tbsp. honey, and 1 tbsp. of fresh lemon juice.
- Drizzle over fresh salad greens with any fresh additions
- Eat & Enjoy!
Lemon and herb chicken salad
Ingredients:
- Romaine lettuce or a green leafy mix
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Dry seasoning of choice (Italian, basil, chefs all purpose)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup of shredded carrots
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 tbsp. freshly chopped , thyme, basil and oregano
Directions:
- Wash and dry the lettuce. Cut into pieces and put it aside.
- Slice chicken breasts into strips and season with dry seasoning
- Heat oil in a medium-sized pan, add the chicken, and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until the chicken is lightly browned.
- Add lemon juice, thyme, oregano, and basil and salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 4 to 5 minutes until chicken is tender.
- Toss the lettuce with the chicken, lemon, thyme, oregano, and basil mixture.
- Eat & Enjoy

Honey Halibut
Ingredients:
1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup honey Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. curry powder
- 1/2 tsp. ground sea salt
- 4 halibut fillets
Directions:
- Combine ingredients except for fish; stir well. Place fillets in a baking dish; brush with half of honey mixture. Turn fillets; brush with remaining honey mixture. Cover and marinate in refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- Remove fillets from marinade, reserving marinade. Place fillets on a lightly oiled rack in a roasting pan. Broil 10 to 12 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, basting occasionally with reserved marinade. Serve over Jasmine or Calrose rice.
